The Future of Technology Outsourcing: The Advent of Robotics in the Workplace

May 23, 2017

Thank you to the In-House Counsel Committee leader Clive Davies and speaker Christopher Eastham, Senior Associate, Fieldfisher for an excellent presentation on the Future of Technology Outsourcing.

Webinar Materials

Description:
Robots are in the office and we may not have noticed them. Robotic process automation (RPA) coupled with artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the technology landscape. “Intelligent” machines capable of learning are taking over process driven tasks in the outsourcing world. Traditional players are having to change their delivery model whilst new entrants are challenging the status quo.

This session will explain what RPA and AI are and how they are changing the business world. In particular it will review the effect on the technology outsourcing market, looking at how businesses are adapting to this new challenge whether as customers or suppliers. It will then examine the legal issues arising from this change in the technology. Who should own and deliver RPA?  How should the outsourcing delivery and contractual model evolve to address the advent of robots? It will look at whether traditional legal and contracting methods will still work, adjusted as necessary for the new robotic world.

There will then be a question and answer session to explore the in-house legal and business implications.
